Meet My Rainbow Crab

I recently got this cardisoma armatum (more commonly known as a rainbow or Soap-Dish Crab). He still doesn’t have a name but will receive one as soon. If you have any ideas for a good name, please post them in the comments, suggestions are gratefully welcomed.

    • He definitely enjoys eating a wide variety of fruit, vegetables, nuts, and proteins (like fish, shrimp, krill, etc.). They do quickly tame (mine in less than a week) and learn to come out for food as soon as they see you appear. I can’t say that he’s extremely active throughout the day but if you’re looking for something fun to interact with, cardisoma armatums are a great choice. They don’t require much equipment but the most difficult part is establishing the nitrogen cycle since they live in a relatively small amount of water and create a pretty massive impact on the ammonia levels. If you have any questions about them, I’d be happy to help you out. šŸ™‚
